Recently, a farmer from Nigeria contacted us. He was very interested in our corn seeder machine, explained his current planting issues, and hoped we could provide a suitable solution to improve his planting efficiency.
After the machine arrived at his farm, it helped him sow and fertilize simultaneously, tripling the sowing efficiency and significantly improving the seed survival rate. This article provides valuable guidance for Nigerian farms and other small and medium-sized farms that face similar planting challenges.
Modern corn planting solutions for African farmers
In many African countries, maize cultivation is still mainly done manually, with small farmers using hoes or animal-powered equipment for tilling and sowing. This not only results in low production efficiency but also increases planting costs, posing a significant limitation to agricultural development.
With the rise of medium-sized farms and the widespread use of tractors, there is significant space for improvement in the use of machinery such as corn seeder machines and integrated seed-fertilizer machines.
This is why our customer from Nigeria decided to purchase our corn planter, which can efficiently complete planting tasks during the planting season, and even reduce manpower to one-third of the original amount.
Customer background and challenges
Our client manages approximately 50 hectares of farmland, growing corn annually to supply local and regional markets.
However, he is currently facing increasing pressure due to several problems.
- Previously, he relied on manual sowing, which was slow and labor-intensive.
- Inexperienced sowers often resulted in uneven sowing depth and low germination rates.
- Furthermore, improper fertilizer application led to significant waste.
- Worse still, seasonal rainfall often delays sowing, limiting labor is an unavoidable trouble.
To solve these problems, he had been searching for a machine that could simultaneously perform furrowing, sowing, and fertilization, and which was also compatible with his 25-horsepower tractor.
Taizy’s solution
Based on the customer’s budget and sowing efficiency requirements, we recommended the 2BYSF-3 corn planter and the 3W-400 overhead sprayer. Our customer readily agreed to the solution because he was very impressed with this multi-functional corn seeder machine, which he had previously seen in one of our YouTube videos.
